Drafting Technologist, Civil/Structural

Mainstay is looking for an Intermediate Drafting Technologist, Civil/Structural to join our growing multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will support current and future projects by developing accurate, coordinated civil and structural drawings and design documentation.

Working alongside engineers and project team members, you will translate engineering concepts, calculations, specifications and technical direction into high-quality project deliverables.

What Youll Do

Prepare civil and structural drawings, plans, sections, details and layouts from engineering concepts, calculations, specifications and sketches.

Develop civil and structural deliverables including site layouts, grading plans, foundations, concrete details and structural steel drawings.

Use CAD and BIM/design software to prepare, revise and coordinate project drawings and models.

Complete drawing sets and documentation packages in accordance with project, client and drafting standards.

Participate in design reviews, multidisciplinary coordination, field investigations and site visits.

Identify and resolve drafting, design coordination and constructability issues with the project team.

Assist with material quantities, estimates, specifications and technical documentation as required.

Manage assigned deliverables and priorities to meet project schedules and quality expectations.

What You Bring

Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, Structural Engineering Technology or a related discipline.

Approximately 35 years of relevant civil and/or structural drafting experience.

Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil 3D, Revit or BIM experience is an asset.

Understanding of civil/structural design principles, construction practices and drawing standards.

Ability to develop detailed drawing packages with limited supervision.

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, organization and communication skills.
