Cabinet Draftsperson or Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker or Custom Millwork Fabricator ready to step off the shop floor into an engineering role.

This career pathway allows a skilled craftsperson to translate bench and machinery experience into technical design, production planning, and CNC programming. We will provide training on our specialized drafting software for candidates with strong shop expertise and spatial aptitude.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Detailing & Production Planning: Translate architectural blueprints and concepts into precise, buildable shop drawings and millwork packages. Prepare CNC programming files and toolpaths.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as a bridge between project managers, shop supervisors, and installers to ensure practical, cost-effective designs. Review drawings with foremen regarding complex joinery, support, or hardware before production. Provide troubleshooting for shop fabrication/assembly.

Material & Process Optimization: Apply real-world knowledge of sheet goods, solid woods, veneers, laminates, and finishes to select efficient construction methods. Optimize sheet nesting and cut lists to minimize waste and bottlenecks.

Qualifications

3+ years hands-on experience in custom cabinet making, architectural millwork, or finish carpentry.

Deep knowledge of cabinet construction standards, joinery, edgebanding, and hardware integration.

Thorough understanding of woodworking machinery, CNC operations, and shop assembly.

Technical & Soft Skills

Strong spatial reasoning, blueprint reading, and math skills.

Proficiency with computer operations and eagerness to learn.

Exposure to drafting software (Mozaik/CAD) is a plus; hands-on build experience is our top priority.

Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical details.

High attention to detail and pride in precision planning.
