Director of Health

The Director of Health will be under the supervision of the Executive Director of Zagime Anishinabek. This role is responsible for the day to day operation of the Zagime Anishinabek Health Department as well as facilitating the development and implementation of health related polices and the long term goals and objectives of the community health plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in the Social Sciences; Health Science, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, and experience.
• 5 years experience management in the Health Administration field.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to understand, interpret and make recommendations for amendments to complex funding agreements.
• Ability to negotiate and conclude agreements
• Possess excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Possess strong organizational skills and strong team leadership
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possess excellent time management skills.
• Knowledge of First Nation Culture and traditions is an asset.
• Experience working in First Nation schools is an asset.
• Awareness of health issues in First Nation communities is an asset.
