Intent to Hire for New Upcoming Program on Red Pheasant Cree Nation.
Seeking qualified candidate for upcoming Community Safety Officer (CSO) program on Red Pheasant Cree Nation.
Qualified candidate will be sent for CSO Induction Course held over the course of eight weeks at Saskatchewan Polytechnic Prince Albert Campus. Candidate must be able to attend the Induction Course this fall for a total of eight weeks.
Candidate must be able to provide documentation, prior to Course enrollment of the following requirements:
Grade 12 School Transcripts or Equivalent
Class 5 Driver's License (must be an experienced driver),along with a Drivers Abstract
Must be 18+ years of age
Minimum two (2) character references
Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
Must have no outstanding Criminal Charges and not be subject of a criminal investigation
Candidate will need to have a high level of fitness in order to complete the SOPAT during the eight weeks of training in Prince Albert.
Upon completion of the CSO Induction Course, along with authorization of the Ministry as authorized under the Police Act, the CSO will deliver high priority/low risk to harm community services and provide a uniformed presence within Red Pheasant Cree Nation. They will liaise with various entities and departments within the Nation, in addition to liaising with the local RCMP and Saskatchewan Marshalls to provide support through information gathering and sharing. The CSO will enforce provincial statues and First Nation laws including but not limited to traffic, alcohol and gaming and community specific bylaws pursuant to their Special Constable authorities.
As previously stated, this is an intent to hire posting, interested and qualified candidates will be considered prior to the fall training session.
