About this role
Battlefords Treatment Centre is seeking a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support client care and medication services within a culturally grounded addictions treatment environment. This position is responsible for the safe administration, documentation, and management of medications in accordance with physician orders, organizational policies, and professional standards of practice.
This casual role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting individuals on their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and dispense medications as prescribed.
Maintain accurate medication administration and client records.
Ensure the safe storage, monitoring, and accountability of medications.
Coordinate prescriptions and refills with pharmacies.
Maintain and update medication information in client files and databases.
Safely dispose of unused or restricted medications according to policy.
Prepare medications for clients transitioning from treatment.
Follow infection prevention and control practices.
Communicate medication changes to Addiction Counsellors and other team members.
Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and accreditation activities.
Adhere to professional, ethical, and organizational standards.
Support Canadian Accreditation Council standards and processes.
Report any inappropriate, unsafe, or unethical behaviour involving staff or clients.'
Qualifications
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing with the applicable regulatory body.
Experience in medication administration and documentation.
Ability to work casual day, evening, and/or overnight shifts.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of medication safety and infection control practices.
Experience in addictions, mental health, or community health settings is considered an asset.
