Building Services, Level 2

The Meadow Lake Housing Authority has an opportunity for a permanent, full time Building Services worker to join their team.  If you are ambitious and skilled in building and property maintenance, we would love to hear from you!  Please note, this position is located in Meadow Lake.

The Position

This position is responsible to

• Ensure housing units are rent ready by undertaking building maintenance and minor repairs
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks and inventory controls
• Assist with garbage removal and janitorial duties
• Groundskeeping, including grass cutting and snow removal

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Moderate knowledge of the basic techniques in a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, flooring, and electrical
• Experience repairing building mechanical equipment, custodial, and maintenance work
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, staff, and tenants
• Ensure day-to-day operations are handled promptly and effectively
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education, basic computer skills, supplemented with some experience in a maintenance and repair environment OR an equivalent combination is required
• Ability to participate in a regular, continuous on call program for emergencies, including evening, weekend, and holiday coverage
• A valid drivers license, reliable, roadworthy vehicle, and an approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) criminal record check are conditions of employment
