Autobody Technician

What You'll Do

•   Vehicle Body Repair :  perform structural and non structural repairs including  dent removal, panel replacement, frame straightening, welding and alignment of body components;
•   Surface Preparation & Finishing :  sand, grind, fill  and prepare repaired surfaces for painting, ensure proper fit and finish of panels and trim;     -  Diagnostic & Measurement :  use computerized measuring systems, diagnostic tools and repair manuals to assess damage and determine repair procedures;       -  Welding & Fabricating : perform welding, cutting and fabrication as required for structural and cosmetic repairs;
•   Parts Handling : remove, repair and reinstall mechanical and electrical components related to body repairs;  ensure proper fitment of replacement parts;
•   Quality Control : inspect completed repairs for accuracy, structural integrity and cosmetic quality; ensure compliance with OEM and industry standards;
•   Documentation : record repair steps, parts used, time spent;  communicate effectively with estimators and management.

Qualifications

•   Journeyperson status preferred but apprentices will also be considered;
•   Ability to read repair estimates, OEM repair procedures and technical diagrams;
•   Experience with welding, frame machines and measuring systems;
•   Valid drivers license and good physical ability.
