The Communications Branch is seeking an experienced and strategic Communications Manager to lead a team of communications professionals supporting Saskatchewan's agriculture sector. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and people leader with expertise in strategic communications, media relations, issues management, public engagement, and digital communications. They will provide trusted advice to senior leaders, manage competing priorities, and ensure communications are clear, timely, and aligned with ministry objectives.
Candidates should have a degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, combined with government and/or corporate communications experience. Knowledge of strategic communications planning, media relations, crisis communications, plain-language writing, stakeholder engagement, and communications measurement is required. Leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, and relationship-building skills are essential. Knowledge of the agriculture sector and government communications processes is considered an asset.
Responsibilities include leading communications planning, media and stakeholder relations, issues management, internal and external communications, content development, team leadership, budget management, and evaluation of communication strategies and campaigns.
