The Ministry of Social Services, Child & Family Programs is seeking Emergency Duty Workers for term positions in Estevan and area. This on-call, rotational role provides after-hours emergency services to children and families. Candidates must have knowledge of human services policies, practices, and procedures, typically gained through a diploma or degree in a human services-related field and/or relevant experience. Strong communication, critical thinking, interpersonal, digital, and crisis intervention skills are required. Applicants must hold a valid driver's licence, be able to travel, work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and transport or assist children and families when required.
Responsibilities include assessing risk and service needs, conducting interviews, developing and monitoring case plans, responding to crises and safety concerns, documenting case information, and coordinating community supports.
