The Ministry of Highways is seeking a motivated Equipment Operator for the Puskwakau Section within the Operations and Maintenance Division. Applicants must possess a valid Class 1A driver's licence and knowledge of operating, maintaining, and servicing heavy equipment such as motor graders, tandem trucks, loaders, and snowplows. Knowledge of workplace safety, traffic control procedures, occupational health requirements, hazardous materials handling, and basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel, and lubrication systems is required. Strong communication, critical thinking, interpersonal, digital, and self-management skills are essential.
Responsibilities include operating and maintaining heavy equipment, performing highway maintenance and winter snow and ice control activities, monitoring equipment use, maintaining records and logs, and assisting with the coordination of daily crew activities as required.
