The Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) provides the residents of the Northwest Territories with access to quality programs, services and support to assist them in making informed and productive choices for themselves and their families with regard to education, training, careers, employment and labour, child development, languages, culture and heritage.
Job Information
The French Language Client Service Officer delivers a variety of French language services and information to the francophone population of the Northwest Territories using a citizen- centered approach from the Single Window Service Centre in Yellowknife, online and through a toll-free telephone line
Key Responsibilities
Provide information and services related to the activities of GNWT departments and agencies to individual clients.
Facilitate the application, permit, and license process for various programs and services of the specific GNWT departments and agencies.
Liaise with sponsoring departments to ensure that all information on programs and services is current and that all forms in use are relevant and are available in French.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
Knowledge of, and/or the ability to acquire and apply knowledge of the francophone community of the NWT.
Ability to speak and write at an advanced level of French and English.
Client service skills include valuing diversity, treating all clients fairly and equally, being flexible and maintaining confidentiality.
Communication skills in both languages including empathetic listening, conflict resolution, providing feedback, questioning, paraphrasing and interpreting verbal and non-verbal information.
Typically attained by.
High School Diploma and two (2) years of experience providing client service in a high- volume area.
Related experience
Working at a front desk or reception area serving clients each day face to face or by telephone, helping with applications, forms, programs, or services.
EQUIVALENCIES
Office Certificate, with 1 year of related experience.
All other equivalencies will be considered on a case by case basis
