About this role

This competition is Restricted to persons of Canadian Indigenous ancestry with a preference to Yukon First Nations

This position is for one (1) 3-year full-time term, working 75 hours bi-weekly. Temporary Assignments and Secondments will be equally considered.

About the Position

Are you passionate about supporting Indigenous career development and advancing reconciliation? Community Services is looking for a collaborative, team-oriented individual who thrives on building relationships and supporting others. As the Indigenous Training Program Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate the Indigenous Training Program (ITP), supporting Indigenous employees as they build skills, gain meaningful work experience and explore career pathways within Community Services and the Yukon Government. You will mentor and guide employees throughout their journey, work with managers to create meaningful training and employment opportunities, and build strong, trust-based relationships with Yukon First Nations and community partners. You will also help shape and strengthen the ITP by incorporating Indigenous perspectives, supporting culturally safe practices, identifying and addressing barriers to participation, and evaluating and growing the program over time.

  • Experience supporting individuals with different backgrounds, needs and goals.
  • Experience working with Indigenous people, communities, organizations or Indigenous-focused programs.
  • Experience balancing competing demands

Must possess and maintain a valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence or equivalent

Compensation Details

$74,307.00 - $86,038.00
