Wood Shop Production Worker

Under the direction of the Senior Supervisor, the successful applicant will perform production duties and may assist in the coordination and delivery of training to program clients.

Duties include

• Performing production activities and operating production machinery including Mitre saws, up cut saws, table saw, air-nailers, pallet jacks, multi rip saw, banding machines, and material handling equipment
• Assisting in job planning, supervision and delegation of duties to area clients
• Ensuring area procedures are followed to ensure product quality, production efficiency and safe working conditions
• Shipping and receiving materials
• Assisting with inventory counts
• Performing production activities and operating production machinery in additional Training Centre Departments as required
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Senior Supervisor

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
• Industrial, mechanical and/or woodworking experience
• Forklift operators certificate and WHMIS certification are considered assets
• Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work effectively with individuals experiencing disabilities
• Strong math and communication skills
