Venue Operations Assistant (Hall Caretaker)

About Us

The G. Marconi Canadian Italian Club is a bustling community hub, event space and wedding venue dedicated to hosting memorable gatherings. We pride ourselves on maintaining a beautiful, welcoming, safe environment for our clients. We are seeking a reliable, versatile Venue Operations Assistant to keep our hall pristine and serve as a vital right-hand to our Venue Manager. You will split your time between ensuring the hall is sparkling clean and helping coordinate the logistics that make our events successful.

Facility Maintenance & Presentation

Clean, sweep, mop, and sanitize the main hall, entryways, restrooms, and shared spaces daily

Empty trash, recycling, and compost bins regularly

Monitor inventory levels for cleaning chemicals, paper products, and kitchen stock; report shortages

Conduct daily walk-through inspections to identify maintenance issues, safety hazards, or repair needs

Event Logistical Support

Set up and dismantle tables, chairs, furniture, and basic audiovisual equipment according to event floor plans

Manage building opening and lock-up procedures

Managerial & Administrative Assistance

Execute operational tasks assigned by the Venue Manager

Supervise external contractors (e.g., plumbers, electricians) when the Venue Manager is unavailable

Document facility issues, supply needs,and event-related observations

Assist with reviewing the venue calendar, tracking rental timelines, and confirming setup requirements

Job Qualifications & Requirements

12 years of experience in janitorial work, facilities maintenance, hospitality, or event production

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor

Ability to work independently, think quickly during live events, and manage time efficiently

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on event schedules
