Technical Director

The Technical Director is the primary technical operator for all event spaces within the Dekker Centre. The Technical Director reports directly to the General Manager and works in conjunction with the Patron Experience Manager. As a senior member of the team, the Technical Director is responsible for coordinating all technical aspects of the organization, as well as managing all aspects of the back of house, including maintenance of the facility. Due to the nature of the performing arts, and our organizational size, the Technical Director may have to take on other roles and responsibilities to support their team as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate all production requirements for the execution of all events

Provide technical expertise and consultation for all events

Schedule meetings, provide estimates to clients and source resources

Schedule all other technicians (casual and contracted) for any event in the facility and ensure all events are staffed appropriately

Set technical procedures and standards for operation of the facility.

Run all major setups and strikes for large scale events

Have flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as well as administrative hours Monday through Friday.

Physical work is required and includes being able to lift equipment, climb ladders and manage working at a variety of heights

Create budgets for back of house resources and follow all show/event budgets, as well as fiscal budgets

Plan, cost, budget & draft small event or facility construction projects as required.

Plan and coordinate annual maintenance of the facility, in consultation and conjunction with the City of North Battleford.

Maintain accurate and up to date venue technical specifications and equipment lists.
