About this role
The Stores Person is responsible for receiving, storing, and moving materials within the Stores department to ensure spare parts and inventory are accurately maintained and readily available to support mill operations. This role also verifies incoming shipments and ensures inventory transactions are completed accurately and documented properly.
What You'll Do
Ensure spare parts & operating supplies are available when needed while maintaining appropriate inventory levels
Maintain inventory records & the Stores system to support maintenance & operational requirements
Help minimize excess inventory & identify obsolete or redundant materials
Assist tradespersons & operators in locating parts & materials
Perform material handling duties, including counting, weighing, sorting, receiving & issuing inventory
Operate a forklift to unload, transport & store materials as required
Support store operations by providing relief coverage & cross-training in other store functions
Participate in a scheduled weekend on-call rotation
What You'll Bring
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
Willingness & ability to complete company-provided training
Previous inventory or warehouse experience is an asset
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with SAP & Microsoft Office applications
Ability to learn new systems & software quickly
Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy & attention to detail.
Self-motivated & capable of working independently
Effective verbal & written communication skills
Ability to build & maintain positive working relationships
Flexible, organized, & able to manage multiple priorities
Strong sense of urgency & commitment to supporting operational needs
Ability to stand, bend, crouch, & perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
Upon successful completion of training, employees may be eligible to transition to four 10-hour shifts per week
