Sheet Metal Apprentice (FT)

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist in the installation of assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and A/C ducts, furnace casings, etc. in accordance with building codes.
2. Assist in metal fabrication based on required specifications.
3. Assist in reading engineering and architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed, and lay out, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates.
4. Assist in the development of patterns for sheet metal as required.
5. Operate light metalworking machines.
6. Ensure all work is performed in a safe, efficient manner and is compliant with all relevant legislation and standards.
7. Housekeeping duties.
8. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be willing to enter into the Apprenticeship Program. Able to work efficiently and follow written and verbal instruction. Strong skills relating to reading, writing and document use. Must portray a pleasant and co-operative attitude, and take pride in the quality of your work. Heavy Lifting involved. Must possess a valid class 5 drivers license. Position is subject to Pioneer Co-ops Alcohol and Substance Policy as a condition of employment.
