About this role
We are seeking an experienced Protection Services Lead to direct security operations at a remote mine site in North East Saskatchewan. Reporting on-site, you will oversee day-to-day access control, patrol operations, procedural compliance, and emergency support, serving as the primary point of escalation for site security issues.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Direct daily protection activities, assign duties to Guards, enforce compliance, and maintain shift consistency across laydowns, camp areas, and site infrastructure.
Access Control & Auditing: Oversee personnel screening, searches, and vehicle checks. Audit patrol routes, logs, access records, and activity reports for accuracy.
Team Mentorship: Lead onboarding, conduct shift briefings, mentor Senior Guards, coach performance, and foster a disciplined team culture.
Emergency Response: Act as Protection Services lead during live incidents and drills until relieved. Coordinate scene control, team deployment, and post-incident investigations with the Emergency Response Coordinator.
Administration & Equipment: Ensure precise documentation for shift logs, incident reports, and Drug & Alcohol testing. Oversee the maintenance of site vehicles, radios, and security systems.
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of industrial or remote-site security experience (mining sector strongly preferred).
Leadership: Proven track record supervising security or emergency response teams.
Licensing & Credentials: Valid Provincial Security Guard License, Class 5 Drivers License (clean abstract), and current Standard First Aid & CPR.
Technical Skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite and digital security documentation systems.
