School Bus Driver

The Cowessess First Nation Education Department is seeking a reliable and safety-focused School Bus Driver to join our team. Reporting to the Education Department, the School Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school and other approved activities while following established routes and schedules. The successful candidate will ensure the bus is properly maintained and operated in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards, while fostering a safe, respectful, and positive environment for students. This role also requires providing courteous and professional service to students, families, and community members, including responding to and reporting transportation concerns or service-related issues as needed.

Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence with an "S" School Bus Endorsement.

Current Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check (satisfactory to the employer).

Current Medical Certificate meeting the requirements for school bus operation.

Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to safe driving practices and applicable traffic laws.

Ability to follow established Cowessess First Nation and Cowessess Community Educational Centre policies, procedures, health and safety protocols, and directions while working independently with minimal supervision.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and professionally with students, parents, staff, and community members.

A genuine interest in working with children and creating a safe, positive, and respectful transportation environment.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and representing Cowessess First Nation in a professional manner.
