About this role
NorthWind Forest Products is a manufacturer of specialty wood products that operates in Glaslyn, SK and is proudly owned by the Meadow Lake Tribal Council. We are looking for an experienced sawmill operator to run a portable circular headrig sawmill that operates on site. The sawmill is operated from an enclosed cab using hydraulic/electric controls and produces rough lumber in various dimensions. Shift would be 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, but more flexible options may be considered. Job requirements:
- Work outdoors in most weather conditions
- Able to quickly identify issues requiring maintenance
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to calculate best use of each log sawed
- Comply with company safety program
- Lift up to 25kg
- Work well with others
- Take direction from management/supervisors
Daily transportation is available from North Battleford, Meadow Lake, and Thunderchild FN so a driver's license is not required for applicants from those locations.
