Quality Assurance Tester

Job Summary

The QA Tester will be responsible for planning, developing, maintaining and executing effective test cases for system enhancements, software application development, and weekly in-house changes to various applications. Also, the QA Tester works within various Project Teams, analyzes, defines and documents Business Process and information requirements.

With a strong understanding of testing procedures and quality assurance programs, the QA Tester will be responsible for testing applications prior to release into production. Any defects that are identified will be recorded in our ALM system. The position will work with analysts to resolve defects and retest.

The QA Tester will play a valuable role in providing ongoing feedback to the development and technical teams of these applications for enhancements and play a critical role in the implementation of these fixes.

Qualifications

Diploma or higher in computer science or related discipline from an accredited posted-secondary education institution.

Minimum 3 years of experience working full-time as a Software Tester in an information technology environment within the past 5 years. Experience includes the following:

Must have hands-on experience in all stages of system, integration, user acceptance testing effort for a minimum of three large and complex development projects.

Deep understanding of industry testing methodologies. Proven ability in the development and execution of test plans, test designs, test reports and testing techniques.

Must have experience in web and mobile testing.

Proficiency in development of SQL queries.

Very familiar with testing tools (HP ALM, Jira).

Working knowledge of system architecture, system designs, system integrations and programming.

Strict attention to detail, highly organized, efficient and excellent at problem solving.

Test Automation experience is an asset.
