About this role
PWM is seeking a Purchaser who is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and monitoring inventory levels of raw materials, hydraulic components, steel, fittings, seals, and other production-related supplies. The successful candidate will work closely with production, engineering, inventory, and management teams to ensure materials are available to meet manufacturing schedules while maintaining cost-effective purchasing practices.
Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase raw materials, components, consumables, and services for manufacturing operations.
Obtain quotations from suppliers and evaluate pricing, quality, delivery times, and service levels.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and purchasing terms with vendors.
Create and maintain purchase orders and procurement records.
Monitor inventory levels and forecast material requirements.
Coordinate with production and warehouse personnel to ensure adequate stock levels.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Track supplier performance, on-time delivery, and quality metrics.
Resolve purchasing issues, shortages, delays, and discrepancies.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data within the ERP system.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain experience.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to analyze inventory and purchasing data.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
