Public Works Supervisor

MGBHLM is seeking a Full-Time Public Works Supervisor. Position reports to Tribal Administrator. The Public Works Supervisor is responsible for the development, operation, maintenance and administration including capital projects, public utilities services including community buildings, sanitation, fire protection and utilities and other related services and programs as may be required from time to time

.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee and direct the Public Works department processes for MGBHLM, ensuring the stability, efficiency and effectiveness of the Public Works programs and services to maintain and improve the quality and effectiveness of infrastructure and operation within the community.

Develop and implement effective processes and programs for risk management, workplace safety and productivity, customer service, and workforce development.

Communicate effectively with community members, Tribal Admins, Chief and Council,  Staff, and others as required in a timely, responsible and professional manner.

Remain current and up-to-date on the MGBHLM Public Works services and community needs, including short-term and long-term strategic planning processes, goals and objectives, and all related processes and systems.

Ensure related Council directives/motions, are followed up on in a timely, efficient and professional manner.

Oversee the process for the coordination and management of the Public Works department records, ensuring all activities/functions are carried out in a responsible and professional manner and that accurate and up-to-date records and reports are completed in a timely manner.

Ensure that Staff utilizes the policies and procedures outlined in the HR Policy, and or any administrative applicable policies and procedures.

Ensure that annual performance reviews are undertaken for all Staff as required.

Provides supervision and guidance to all Public Works department Staff ensuring all policies and procedures approved and in place
