Public Works Labourer

The Town of Norquay is seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking individual to fill the position of Public Works Labourer. This full-time/part time position involves year-round municipal maintenance duties, with additional responsibilities at the Communiplex during the winter season.

Road maintenance and repair.

Operation and maintenance of municipal equipment and tools.

Mowing and grounds maintenance using various mowers and equipment.

Maintenance of streets, sidewalks, parks, and other municipal properties.

Assisting with water and wastewater system operations.

Snow removal and ice control during winter months.

Participation in an on-call rotation and responding to emergency call-outs as required.

Snow shovelling and snow removal around the facility.

Assisting with ice installation and ice surface maintenance.

Rink maintenance and operation.

General maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the hall and Communiplex

Level 1 Water Treatment Certification.

Level 1 Water Distribution Certification.

Level 1 Wastewater Certification.

Experience operating a payloader and grader.

Experience in municipal public works operations.

Experience with road maintenance and construction activities.

Experience operating various mowers and grounds maintenance equipment.

Experience maintaining ice surfaces, arenas, or recreation facilities.

Residency Requirements

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preference will be given to candidates who reside within, or are willing to relocate within, a one-hour driving distance of the Town of Norquay to accommodate operational and on-call requirements.
