Public Works Labourer 3

General Duties

• Operating equipment, such as street sweepers, dump trucks, skid-steers, vacuum trucks
• Removing snow from streets, sidewalks, and other municipal property
• Spreading salt and sand for ice control
• Maintaining the municipal compost site
• Road and street maintenance
• Loading and unloading trucks with supplies, equipment, and other materials
• Seasonal clean-up
• Carrying out daily safety procedures and documentation
• Reporting daily activities and maintaining accurate records
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education & Certifications

• Valid Class 3A Saskatchewan drivers license
• Satisfactory results from a criminal record check and drivers abstract
• Powered mobile equipment (PME) certification, or equivalent

Experience

• A minimum of 1-year previous experience in a similar capacity

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must be able and willing to operate a dump truck or vacuum truck
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able and willing to perform all duties of the job in various weather conditions for extended periods
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships
• Good communication and comprehension ability - written and oral
