Personal Support Worker

Overview

Cozy Nest Care Home in Saskatoon is seeking a caring and reliable Support Worker to assist seniors and individuals with disabilities with daily living activities and personal care. Candidates must hold a PSW certification and be committed to providing quality care while respecting residents dignity, independence, and well-being. Preference will be given to candidates available to work all three shifts (day, evening, and night) from Friday through Sunday and those living in Saskatoon or the surrounding area.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support mobility, transfers, and lifting.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Provide companionship and engage residents in activities.
• Monitor and report changes in residents health.
• Assist with meals, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Respect residents rights, dignity, and independence.
• Complete documentation and incident reports.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.

Requirements

• PSW certification (required).
• Experience in caregiving, senior care, or disability support.
• Dementia care knowledge is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physical ability to assist with resident care.
• Criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
