About this role
Position Summary the Peer Support Worker provides addictions recovery support to individuals who are struggling with substance misuse. The Peer Support Worker provides one on one and group support in a residential setting, while providing a safe, trauma informed and bi-cultural environment of recovery and support.
Qualifications
o Personal experience in recovery from addiction challenges and ability to draw upon wellness and recovery experience
o Peer support related training is a strong asset and knowledge in harm reduction principles is an asset
o Mental Health & Wellness Certificate and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered an asset
- Will include shift/weekend work as we are a 24/7 hour facility.
