Overnight Program Support Worker

The Street Worker's Advocacy Project is hiring a full-time (40 hrs/wk) Overnight Program Support Worker for our Raising Hope Program, a program for pregnant or early post partum women who struggle with addiction issues.  The program is delivered from a secure apartment building with a maximum capacity for 14 families and is staffed 24/7 with a minimum of 2 staff on each shift.  The goals of the program include healthier pregnancies and births, keeping mothers and newborns together, reuniting parents with children in care, and increasing family wellness through programming for addictions, parenting, prenatal health, and skills for healthy living.  The Overnight Program Support Workers monitor the security system, ensuring the security of the building and grounds and the safety of our families. They provide mentoring, respite, and crisis support, as well as transportation when required.  They also assist in cleaning and preparing apartments for new intakes, as well as ensuring the office and common areas are clean and sanitized for the next shift.  The successful candidate will be familiar with the principles of trauma informed practice and harm reduction and be knowledgeable about problematic substance use, maternal mental health and infant and baby care. The successful candidate will also have strong communication, relationship building, advocacy, and conflict resolution skills.  Previous experience working within a group home setting and/or working with families with similar challenges are assets.  A combination of education and experience will be considered.  Please note that this is an overnight position, and staff are expected to be awake throughout their shift.  A valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean driving abstract are required.
