Operations Assistant

JGL Commodities Ltd. is seeking an Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of our grain-handling facility in Marengo, Saskatchewan.

Working closely with the Operations Manager and the trading, logistics, and operations teams, this role supports grain movement from producer delivery through to customer shipment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the safe, efficient operation of the Marengo grain facility, including receiving, sampling, grading, handling, storing, inventory management, shipping, rail loading, equipment upkeep, and facility maintenance. Build strong relationships with producers and customers while supporting grain purchasing, pricing, contracts, deliveries, logistics, and coordination with trading and merchandising teams. Maintain accurate records and help resolve operational, delivery, and contract issues. Follow all safety and regulatory requirements, participate in training and inspections, and continuously develop knowledge of grain operations, logistics, merchandising, and producer relationships.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and valid Class 5 driver's license.

Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Reliable, accountable, and willing to take ownership.

Ability to build positive producer and customer relationships.

Basic Microsoft Office/Excel skills and ability to learn new systems.

Comfortable working in both office and hands-on environments.

Willingness to work extended hours during peak agricultural seasons.

Genuine interest in agriculture and willingness to learn and grow.

Work Environment

Combination of office and hands-on facility work, with exposure to grain dust, noise, machinery, heights, ladders, cold and changing weather. May include moving equipment, loading rail cars, and extended hours during peak periods.
