Job Summary
The Nutrition Specialist plays a key role in the care of children in our Early Learning and Childcare Centres. They plan and provide fresh, nutritious home cooked meals and baking which meet all dietary requirements. The Nutrition Specialist is responsible for maintaining the kitchen and equipment and providing a safe and healthy environment. They also engage directly with the children by providing fun and engaging learning opportunities that teach nutrition and basic cooking skills as well as provide support in the classroom when required. The Nutrition Specialist does not have any direct reports and reports directly to the Manager of the Early Learning and Childcare center.

Responsibilities
- Menu Planning & Food Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious lunches and snacks based on allergies, special diets, and ethnic customs all while following the standards set out by the Ministry of Education, Early Learning & Childcare branch.
- Beyond the Kitchen: Develop food related experiences for children to teach them about food related topics, participate in daycare events such as barbecues and bake sales, and gain Nutritionist experience by working alongside healthcare professionals.
Shifts
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Compensation Details
$19.38 to $26.22/hr
