Job description
The HIV Nurse Specialist for the Northern Population Health Unit (NPHU) is responsible to coordinate implementation, monitoring and ongoing evaluation of HIV initiatives across the northern health authorities. The Saskatchewan HIV Strategy aims to reduce the rate of new infections, facilitate access to therapy and treatment, increase quality of life, and decrease discrimination. The HIV Nurse Specialist works closely with staff of the Northern Population Health Unit and three health authorities; primary care providers; community partners; the Ministry of Health and other sectors; southern health regions; and First Nations agencies. The HIV Specialist reports jointly to the NPHU Deputy Medical Health Officer for various clinical aspects of practice and to the Manager of the NPHU for administrative and some programming related aspects.
