About this role
Reporting to the Superintendent of Schools, Mihkoskiwakak Nehiyawak Education Authority (MNEA) is seeking compassionate, highly skilled, and culturally responsive Mental Health Therapists to support the mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of students, families, and staff within our school communities.
The Mental Health Therapists will provide assessment, counseling, intervention, prevention, and wellness services while integrating Nhiyaw values, cultural teachings, and trauma-informed practices. They will work in Mamawe Awasis Elementary School and John William Head Memorial Education Centre.
The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, therapeutic interventions, individual and family counseling, crisis support, prevention programming, and referral services for children, youth, and families experiencing mental health challenges, emotional concerns, trauma, communication difficulties, or family conflict.
