With an estimated population of 6,500, Humboldt is strategically located in the heart of SK and offers all the amenities of the city but with small-town charm. The Board of the Humboldt Housing Authority (HHA) has an opportunity for a manager to lead the team!
The Housing Authority manages a portfolio of approximately 175 units and is comprised predominantly of senior units along with family and a few affordable units in the City of Humboldt.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the manager has five direct reports and oversees the overall operations and financial viability of the authority while meeting the objectives and policies of the Board and Saskatchewan Housing Corporation. The position is accountable for an overall operating budget of approximately $1.3M and is responsible to promote the efficient and respectful delivery of quality public housing services that benefit the vulnerable in the provision of safe, secure, and affordable housing while enhancing ongoing relations with SHC and other housing authorities through participation, consultation, and engagement.
Key areas of responsibility include: property and asset management, tenant relations, board relations, financial management, community relations and marketing, and HR management and payroll.
The successful applicant brings a completed undergraduate degree in business, social work, psychology, human services, or similar, along with a minimum of five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting is a requisite and you have reported directly to a Board of Directors. Experience using accounting software is an asset along with knowledge of housing, property management, Residential Tenancies Act, National Building Code, tendering, and contracting for services. A SK valid drivers license is required.
