About this role
Senior Assisted living is seeking an experienced maintenance person. The Maintenance position is a hands on position and includes maintaining buildings and grounds including but not limited to plumbing, heating and electrical. Experience with painting and dry walling an asset; Firemans certificate and boiler experience an asset. Must have good oral and written skills. Criminal record check will be required for individual hired to this position. This is a full time position with benefits. The position is from 8:00 to 4:00 with alternating four day weekend off. This shift will be 56 hours every two weeks.
Specific Maintenance Activities
Work with minimal supervision
Work in a team environment with other maintenance staff
A strong ability to multitask
Paint, Repair drywall
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on electrical systems
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on plumbing systems
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heating, cooling and ventilation systems
Troubleshoot and perform outside duties i.e. cut grass, trim hedges, watering, snow removal, ice removal, etc.
Report all problems to management
Perform routine maintenance jobs and repairs
Perform annual and semi annual maintenance jobs
Equipment Operated/Used
Snow blowers
Small tractors (lawn/snow removal attachments)
Waxing machines
Carpet cleaning machines
Industrial power sweepers
Power tools
