Locomotive Engineer

Crosskey Marketing Inc. is seeking an experienced Locomotive Engineer to support rail operations at a private industrial yard in Unity, Saskatchewan. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of locomotives and the movement, switching, and placement of railcars within the facility.

We are looking to fill a variety of employment arrangements, including full-time, part-time, casual, and contract positions. Please indicate in your cover letter the type of position you are seeking. Lodging is provided while working in Unity.

Responsibilities

• Operate a locomotive within a private rail yard.
• Perform general yard switching in coordination with the Conductor.
• Perform daily locomotive inspections.
• Maintain strict adherence to operating rules, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Locomotive Engineer is required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to identify basic mechanical issues and support troubleshooting efforts.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective radio communication skills.
• Ability to work safely with minimal supervision.
• Physically capable of climbing, walking uneven surfaces, and working in all weather conditions.
• Applicants are required to hold a valid drivers license.
• Employment is conditional upon passing CROR rules examination and railway medical.
