Licensed Practical Nurse- Part Time

Bujea Family Foundation Inc. is seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing support at our Personal Care Home in Regina, Saskatchewan.

This is a part-time position of approximately 4 hours per week, with additional hours as required. The LPN will provide nursing support on scheduled Nurse Practitioner (NP) visit days twice monthly and be available on call as required based on resident needs and PCH requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, person-centred nursing care within the LPN scope of practice; monitor residents and promptly report changes in health status; assist with assessments, care planning and specialized care; review and maintain resident charts, care plans, progress notes, medication records and incident reports; support safe medication administration in accordance with training, policies and applicable requirements; coordinate with pharmacy and healthcare providers regarding resident care and medication concerns; guide and support Continuing Care Assistants (CCAs) and care staff; participate in NP visits and follow up on recommendations; support wound care, mobility, falls prevention, infection prevention and other resident-care needs as applicable; communicate with residents, families and healthcare professionals; provide clinical guidance to care staff within scope; and appropriately escalate changes in resident condition.

Qualifications

Current LPN registration and good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan (CLPNS). Recognized Practical Nursing diploma/program required. Current First Aid/BLS/CPR certification. Experience in long-term care, personal care homes, seniors' care or a related setting is preferred. Strong clinical observation, communication, documentation and organizational skills required. Must demonstrate compassion, professionalism, confidentiality and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
