We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join the North West Pure Alcohol and Spirits (nwPURE) team.
Location: RGE RD-228, 1 Mile East Hwy-14 Unity, SK S0K4L0.
About Us: nwPURE is an ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety-Certified distillery producing 25 million litres per year of beverage, USP, cosmetic, and denatured alcohol.
Position Overview: This role ensures the quality, safety, and consistency of our products by conducting chemical and instrumental analyses throughout production.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine laboratory tests on raw materials, fermentation samples, distillates, and finished alcohol products and co-products
Maintain accurate records of all laboratory results and quality control data
Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, IR, moisture analyzer, and Karl Fischer titrator. Perform yeast counts, viability testing, water analysis, and other required tests.
Prepare chemical reagents and monitor critical control points to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards
Consistently follow safety and sanitation protocols
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Chemical Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Previous laboratory experience, preferably in food or beverage, fermentation, or distillation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
Willingness to work flexible hours, including 8- and 12-hour day and night shifts as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with distillation, fermentation, or spirits production
Knowledge of regulatory standards such as USP, FCC, ISO 22000, and GMP
