Street Culture Project is seeking an experienced Journeyperson Carpenter to join our Construction Services team in Regina. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will serve as the lead carpenter on site, completing hands-on construction work while providing daily direction and mentorship to labourers and apprentices.
Duties include reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and specifications; completing residential and commercial construction, renovations and repairs; and performing framing, roofing, foundation, deck, stair, door, window, flooring, trim and finish carpentry. The position will also coordinate daily site activities, monitor workmanship, solve construction challenges and ensure projects are completed efficiently and professionally.
The Journeyperson Carpenter is responsible for maintaining safe, clean and organized job sites and ensuring work meets Saskatchewan building codes, construction standards and occupational health and safety requirements. Professional communication with clients, contractors, suppliers and inspectors is required.
Applicants must have Journeyperson Carpenter certification, at least five years of relevant residential or commercial experience, experience reading blueprints and mentoring construction crews, and a valid Class 5 Drivers Licence. Red Seal certification is preferred. WHMIS is required or must be obtained, and First Aid/CPR is an asset. Candidates must be able to safely operate construction tools and perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
The position offers $25.00$28.50 per hour, 35+ hours per week, comprehensive benefits, employer RRSP matching and professional development. Scheduling flexibility is required. A three-month probationary period and review apply.
