Janitor (for Remote Northern SK Mine Sites)

• *CANDIDATES WITH A VALID CLASS 5 DRIVER'S LICENSE WILL BE GIVEN PREFERENCE.
• *WE COVER YOUR TRAVEL (to-and-from site, out of Saskatoon or Prince Albert), MEALS, & ACCOMMODATIONS at site!
• *SHIFT WORK IS REQUIRED; WORK SCHEDULES ARE 2-WEEK IN-AND-OUT ROTATIONS.
• *YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG & ALCOHOL TEST.

Reporting to the janitorial manager, this position is responsible for janitorial duties at remote northern sites, such as mining facilities and exploration camps. Duties must be completed in accordance with contract standards & specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors.
• Dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, and area rugs.
• Clean and sanitize all areas as assigned.
• Collect garbage.
• Clean assigned areas, including office complexes and other buildings.
• Follow ACLP policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Things to consider - lets not waste your time

• Requires work at remote mining facilities & exploration camps.
• The MUST be able to work compressed workweeks.
• You must be a team player, who works well with others.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast, thorough, efficient manner with attention to detail.
• Grade 10 would be an asset.
• One year of janitorial experience is preferred and would be an asset.
• A suitable combination of education & experience will also be considered.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid, recognized first aid certificate.
• Ability to perform janitorial duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Knowledge of safety procedures associated with working with hazardous products, including WHMIS.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Physically able to perform the assigned duties.
• A valid class 5 Drivers License, with an acceptable drivers abstract is preferred.
