Chief Ahtahkakohp School is a Pre-k to grade 12 educational institution located on the Ahtahkakohp Cree Nation in north central Saskatchewan (Canwood, SK).
The Ahtahkakohp Cree Nation is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual to fill the full-time position of Industrial Arts Teacher.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines and educational standards
Teach students how to safely and effectively use various tools and machinery
Incorporate appropriate technology and media in lesson planning
Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and exams
Stay current with industry trends and advancements to provide relevant and up-to-date instruction
Promote and maintain high standards of behavior, respect and safety within the class-room
Support families with open, ongoing communication
Participate in professional development
Prepare students for careers in technical and trade-related fields through skills training and career guidance
Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety within classroom
Uphold Ahtahkakohp Code of Conduct, provide appropriate consequences and contact homeroom teachers/parents when required
Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions
Formal and informal ongoing assessment of students, including report cards, progress reports and marking
