Job Purpose
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in assigned areas.
Accountabilities
The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class:
Clean assigned areas such as, but not limited to, windows/sills, baseboards, desks, tables, chairs, walls, all floors and rugs, beds, stairs, and washroom utilities.
Clean dormitory daily - change bedding as required. Dry/wet mop floors as required.
Clean private rooms as per weekly schedule.
Laundry duties
- � do laundry for the Centre ? sheets, pillowcases, and towels.
Clean front entrance daily.
Use cleaning supplies wisely.
Use all supplies and materials safely and perform all duties in a safe manner.
After each shift, return any equipment used and wash and hang up mops.
Be polite and courteous to residents.
Performs other duties as assigned
NOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.
Qualifications (Minimum)
Grade 12 graduate
Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping or related experience
SPECIAL LICENSES, DIPLOMAS, CERTIFICATIONS OR REQUIREMENTS:
Possess valid First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)
Knowledge of chemicals (WHIMIS training)
Able to understand oral and written communication well
Work with minimal supervision
Physically capable of completing all tasks
Neat in appearance and bondable.
Willing to subscribe fully to The Salvation Army mission/ethics/values
This position requires a Vulnerable Sector Check.
