HIV Registered Nurse Sanctum Care Group
Sanctum is Saskatchewans first HIV Hospice and Transitional Care Home, providing 24/7 support for people living with HIV who face complex social, medical, and highrisk conditions. We also offer compassionate palliative care for clients with endoflife needs.
Position Summary
The HIV RN provides clinical leadership, direct nursing care, and guidance to home support staff. This role ensures traumainformed, harmreduction, personcentered care while maintaining high standards of safety, communication, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support home support staff; provide clear direction and feedback.
Address daily client and staff concerns; model traumainformed and harmreduction care.
Manage difficult conversations with staff or clients when incidents or conflict arise.
Uphold SCG policies and escalate concerns through appropriate channels.
Maintain accurate MARs; verify medications and complete weekly checks.
Administer medications, provide wound care, and deliver holistic nursing interventions.
Create and update client care plans and weekly summaries.
Participate in daily physician rounds; advocate for client needs.
Prepare documentation for infectious disease clinics.
Coordinate external appointments and onboard new clients.
Provide palliative care, including participation in 24/7 RN rotation as needed.
Participate in Manager OnCall rotation every 68 weeks.
Review referrals with leadership and assist with policy updates.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse Degree and active RN license.
Experience in HIV care and addictions.
Harmreduction and traumainformed training (asset).
Ability to work as sole RN on site.
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
