Groundskeeper and Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Seasonal Groundskeeper/Maintenance team member to help maintain the functionality of our outdoor and indoor spaces. In this role, you will be responsible for performing landscape maintenance and general groundskeeping tasks to ensure a pristine environment.  You will also be responsible for assisting with general maintenance of our units, including exterior and interior painting, and assisting our team with custodial work including cleaning and repairing units and maintenance related tasks, as required.

Responsibilities

Use hand tools, power tools, other equipment to perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and watering.

Assist with seasonal clean-up activities including leaf removal, debris clearing, and preparing grounds for different weather conditions.

Perform routine maintenance on outdoor equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency.

Follow safety protocols while handling tools and chemicals to ensure a secure work environment.

Assist with cleaning and repairing units, general maintenance and interior and exterior painting.

Prior experience with gardening, landscape maintenance, or groundskeeping is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated learners.

Familiarity with hand tools such as rakes, trimmers, lawnmowers, tractors, rotor tillers and hoes is beneficial.

Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude towards maintenance tasks and teamwork.

Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work amongst tenants and the public.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently and meet deadlines.

Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, efficiency, time management and good judgement.

A reliable vehicle and cell phone are required.

This is a full time, seasonal term position to work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week; one weekend/month to participate in weekend rotation on call work.
