General Manager Blackhawks Travel Centre, Duck Lake, SK (Full Time Permanent) Willow Cree Development Corporation
Position Summary: The General Manager is responsible for the overall store management, maintaining and operating Blackhawks Travel Centre LP. Overseeing daily operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, supervising and managing Staff effectively, monitoring financial performance of the store, setting and meeting sales targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the Gas Bar and Convenience Store
Respond to operational issues and customer concerns promptly
Prepare and manage annual operating budgets
Monitor revenues, expenses, and profitability
Review daily sales, fuel reports, inventory reports, and financial statements
Develop employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels
Address employee deficiencies in accordance with personnel policies
Promote a respectful, safe, and productive work environment
Ensure compliance with employment policies and workplace standards
Manage inventory levels for fuel, food products, beverages, tobacco products (where applicable), and retail merchandise
Monitor stock movement and minimize losses
Coordinate purchasing and supplier relationships
Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near misses
Education and Experience
Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Management, or a related field is preferred.
Equivalent education and experience may be considered
35 years of progressive management experience in retail, fuel operations, convenience stores, hospitality, or a related business environment
Experience managing budgets, inventory, and staff
Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash management
Experience working with Indigenous communities or First Nation-owned businesses is considered an asset.
