Finance Manager

MSCFS is seeking a Finance Manager to join our Administration team for Prevention. The Finance Manager is responsible for the overall financial, accounting, and administrative requirements. The Finance Manager prepares financial statements, maintaining cash controls, preparing the payroll, purchasing and procurement, maintaining accounts payable/receivable and managing the office operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit.

Report monthly variance reporting and provide accurate supporting documentation for financial transactions.

Develop and maintain financial systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconcile bank accounts, acquisition of capital assets

Oversee all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner.

Assist Board, Executive Director, and management with the preparation of budgets or funding applications.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge of Ministry of Social Services (MSS) policies and Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) policies

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Able to make decisions while working under pressure

Able to work effectively on computer programs (Redmane, Xyntax, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)

Able to work individually and work collaboratively as part of a team

Must have excellent reading and writing skills for reporting

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Maintain a clear Fit for Duty Test

Maintain a clear Criminal & Vulnerable Sector Check

Maintain a class 5 driver's license and a reliable vehicle

Maintain Confidentiality  must sign an Oath of Confidentiality annually

Preference given to Aboriginal Ancestry under E-96 of the Human Rights Code
