About this role
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring sound financial management practices, compliance with applicable regulations and funding requirements, and timely reporting to support organizational decision-making. The Finance Manager reports to the Director of Finance but supervises all other finance staff and provides financial oversight and support to the Office Manager and Human Resources team on finance-related matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, or equivalent) preferred; however, candidates in the process of getting the designation are welcome to apply.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Experience in the nonprofit, charitable, or public sector environment preferred.
- Experience managing grants, restricted funding, and funder reporting is highly desirable.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Understanding nonprofit financial management and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and relationship management abilities.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
