Monette Farms is looking for a dependable and mechanically skilled Farm Shop & Equipment Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with equipment, solving mechanical problems, and keeping a busy farming operation running smoothly.
Youll work on a variety of agricultural equipment and machinery, assisting with repairs, preventative maintenance, servicing, and general shop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair tractors, trucks, farm machinery, implements, and other equipment
- Perform routine servicing, inspections, lubrication, and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Assist with equipment breakdowns and field repairs
- Repair and replace worn or damaged components
- Assist with welding, fabrication, and general shop projects
- Prepare equipment for seeding, spraying, harvest, and other seasonal operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop
- Work with operators and management to minimize equipment downtime
What makes you a great fit
Mechanical experience is required. You do not need to be a licensed mechanic, but must have hands-on experience maintaining and repairing vehicles, agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, or similar machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience using hand, power, and shop tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid drivers licence
- Willingness to work additional hours during busy seasons
- Welding/fabrication and agricultural experience are considered assets
