About this role
The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) is seeking an internal experienced and motivated Family Information Liaison Officer (FILO) in the Womens Secretariat. The FILO worker provides technical, administrative, and liaison support to the Womens Secretariat and the Saskatchewan First nations Womens Commission. This role supports families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWGS2+) by coordinating information access, referrals, research, reporting, and communication and by leading complex or escalated family liaison matters while maintaining respectful, culturally grounded relationships with families, communities, and partners.
Your Role
Family Liaison & Support
Serve as a primary point of contact for families of MMIWG2S+ in Saskatchewan.
Gather, organize, and share information related to family needs and concerns.
Provide culturally appropriate, trauma-informed referrals and support.
Support families in navigating services, agencies, and available resources.
Build and maintain respectful, trusting relationships with families and communities.
Lead coordination of complex, sensitive, or escalated family cases as required.
Research & Analysis
Conduct, compile, and analyze research related to MMIWGS2+ issues as required.
Assist with the development of policy options, program initiatives, and reports.
Provide analytical input and recommendations to support long-term policy and legislative initiatives addressing systemic issues.
