Equipment Operator III - Transportation

The City of Warman is seeking to fill the full-time position of Transportation Operator Level III in our Public Works department. Under direct supervision of the Public Works Transportation Lead Hand, the Transportation Operator Level III is responsible for the daily operations, maintenance and repairs of the City's infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, ditches, drainage systems and other assets. The role may also provide support to water and wastewater operations as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License with clean abstract.
• Demonstrated the ability to efficiently operate all equipment  at the Transportation Operator Level III including graders, loaders, sweepers, tractors, skid steers, gravel trucks, garbage trucks, genie lifts/bucket trucks and backhoes.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather condition, including ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more as required.
• Adhere to all City policies, procedures and safety standards.
• Use appropriate PPE in accordance with OH&S regulations and wear steel toed boots at all times.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to report to job sites within 20 minutes when being called in.

Candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered for a Level II Operator position.
