Duties
Provide case management, risk assessments, and individual/group interventions for people at risk of using violence.
Develop intervention and safety plans, conduct referrals, crisis support, outreach, advocacy, and system navigation.
Use evidence-informed, person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally safe approaches. Assess family dynamics, coercive control, and child/family safety concerns.
Facilitate therapeutic groups, support clients affected by IPV, and collaborate with community partners.
Maintain records, meet reporting requirements, participate in program development, education, committees, training, supervision, and provide guidance to students and peers.
Work hours and perform other duties as assigned.
Education
Completed BSW/BISW degree
1-3 years of direct experience
Eligible for registration with & maintain good standing in a relevant professional association
Area of Knowledge
Knowledge of counselling theories and practice, including crisis and short-term counselling, human development, behaviour change, communication, and conflict resolution.
Strong understanding of intimate partner violence, abuse, coercive control, and experience supporting individuals affected by or at risk of using violence.
Training in, or ability to become proficient with, the Safety and Repair Model, Safe & Together, Narrative Therapy, and ACEs.
Skilled in trauma- and violence-informed approaches and group facilitation.
Knowledge of community resources, justice systems, and court processes.
Demonstrated cultural awareness and ability to work with Indigenous, immigrant, refugee, and newcomer populations.
Familiar with addictions, mental health concerns, and FASD. Interpersonal, ethical, caseload management, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid drivers licence and reliable vehicle.

Compensation Details
$4,957.25 to $5,471.88 per month based on education/experience
